Arthur Price unveils cutting edge Victoriana with a sharp price tag at Harrods this autumn

1851, London. The Great Exhibition, a celebration of modern industry and commerce, proudly displays the largest ever pair of beautifully engraved stainless steel scissors, standing 3ft tall, crafted by master cutlery maker, George Butler.

2010, Staffordshire. Arthur Price, the UK’s leading cutlery manufacturer. A warehouse renovation leads to an amazing discovery. Nearly 160 years after they were first displayed, packed away and forgotten by all, these extraordinary scissors are unearthed.

As a fitting conclusion to this fascinating story, Arthur Price (which bought the George Butler brand in 1994) is displaying the scissors for a second time, exclusively at Harrods. The public will once again have the opportunity to admire the craftsmanship and quality which were hallmarks of Victorian manufacturing and continue to be core values upheld by Arthur Price today.

And should a member of the public feel inspired to own this unique piece of history, they can be bought for a snip at just £40,000.
